Both cars, which are best-sellers in Korea, scored 92.1 points out of a possible 100. Third-place went to the Kia K7 midsize sedan, which earned 91.7 points. The ministry deems all three as "safest cars of the year."
This year’s awards assessed 14 models based on scores in such categories as crash results and pedestrian safety. The contenders comprised five imports and nine models assembled in Korea.
