Canada's Magna International Inc. has launched production at a new $50 million factory in Chongqing, China, that makes make automotive body and chassis parts.
The facility mainly will supply nearby Ford Motor Co. vehicle plants and Volkswagen AG's factory in Chengdu. Magna already has plants in Changchun, Changsha, Shanghai and Tianjin.
