Loose Bolts Prompt Recalls for Some Chrysler, Dodge Cars

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is calling back about 69,300 of its Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans in the U.S. to replace loose front drivetrain bolts.
The recall targets 2014-2017 models equipped with all-wheel drive. FCA says the front propshafts on affected models could loosen and disconnect. If that happens, the propshaft would stop delivering power to the front wheels and could damage the transmission. Dealers will replace all eight bolts involved.
FCA first discovered the problem in police vehicles. The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration it has eliminated the problem in production models by slighting increasing the torque applied to the bolts during the manufacturing process.
