Industry Veteran O’Neill to Head Dealer Service Group
Finbarr O'Neill, who retired as CEO of J.D. Power in 2018, has been named CEO and chairman of APCO Holdings Inc., a Norcross, Ga.-based dealer service company.
Finbarr O'Neill, who retired as CEO of J.D. Power in 2018, has been named CEO and chairman of APCO Holdings Inc., a Norcross, Ga.-based dealer service company.
O'Neill, 67, succeeds Larry Dorfman, who founded APCO (Automobile Protection Corp.) in 1984. Dorfman will continue to work with the company as a senior advisor.
APCO, which is known for its EasyCare, GWC Warranty, SAVY, Covideo and MotorTrend Certified Vehicles brands, sells warranty, insurance and dealer service products through more than 1,500 franchised dealers and 4,500 independent dealers in the U.S. O'Neill has been on the company’s board of directors since November 2017.
O’Neill helmed J.D. Power for about 10 years. He previously was CEO of Reynolds and Reynolds, which provides auto dealership management software and services. He also was a senior counsel for Toyota’s U.S. sales unit, and he headed the American operations of Hyundai and Mitsubishi Motors.
