Toyota Motor Corp.’s Lexus luxury unit will take the wraps off the long-rumored three-row version of its RX crossover vehicle later this month at the Los Angeles auto show.
The 2019 model, which will be marketed as the RX 350L, is expected to have the same wheelbase as the base two-row RX 350. But the vehicle’s overall length will be extended to accommodate the third row of seating.
Power likely will come from the RX 350’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine with an optional all-wheel-drive system. A hybrid variant, dubbed the RX 450L, will be added later.
Lexus already offers a pair of three-row vehicles: the GX and LX SUVs. But the RX 350L will be its first car-based crossover with such a configuration. The fourth-generation RX 350 was introduced in 2015.
Sales will begin next year. Pricing is expected to start at about $45,000.
