Jaguar Land Rover Ltd.’s Land Rover unit took the wraps off the all-new Range Rover SV Coupe at this week’s Geneva auto show.

The two-door model will be Land Rover’s most expensive model, with a starting price of $295,000 in the U.S. Global sales will be limited to 999 units.

Developed by JLR’s SVO customization department, the SV Coupe is built on the same platform as the base four-door Range Rover SUV. But the only shared body parts are the hood and the lower half of the tailgate.

The grille and side vents have been significantly reworked and are made from more exotic materials. The doors are electronically opened and closed and feature frameless windows.

The interior is bisected by a full-length center console. Three veneer finishes are available, including a nautical-inspired option that integrates walnut and sycamore and eventually will be offered in other special-edition Range Rover models.

Buyers can choose from several high-end interior trim packages, including contrasting diamond-pattern leather patterns for the front and rear seats.

Power comes from JLR’s supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine that’s tuned to deliver 557 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The engine propels the SV Coupe from zero to 60 mph in five seconds on its way to a top speed of 165 mph, which makes it the fastest Range Rover ever—beating the SVAutobiography Dynamic by 0.1 second and 35 mph.

The SV Coupe’s full-time four-wheel drive features a two-speed transfer box and active locking rear differential. The system is teamed with the carmaker’s Terrain Response 2 technology, which has six settings that alter the car’s responses to different terrain.

This includes raising ride height during off-road maneuvers or to navigate over a detected obstacle. At speeds above 65 mph, the new model can lower itself by half an inch to improve stability and fuel economy. The SV Coupe rides on 23-inch wheels, the largest ever for a Range Rover.
