Tata Motors Ltd.'s Land Rover brand is adding a long-wheelbase version of it 2014 Range Rover SUV. The new model will be publicly unveiled in November in China and at the Los Angeles auto show.

The LWB model will go on sale in Europe and the U.S. in March. Pricing has not been announced.

The stretched SUV Land Rover's first in 22 years gains 5.5 inches of wheelbase and roughly the same amount of additional legroom for rear-seat passengers. Land Rover notes that LWB models are critical in China and the Middle East where rear-seat comfort is a priority.

The company will offer the LWB option initially with its Supercharged and Autobiography models. When equipped with executive seating, the rear seats will recline 17 compared with 9 for the standard model.
