Sweden’s Koenigsegg AB says it Agera RS supercar set a new record to go from zero-to-400 kph (249 mph) and zero with a time of 36.4 seconds.

The time easily bests the previous record set less than a month ago in a Bugatti Chiron, which accomplished the feat in just under 42 seconds. The Agera took 26.8 seconds to hit 400 kph, while the Chiron required 32.6 seconds. The Chiron’s deceleration time was slightly faster.

Koenigsegg driver Niklas Lilja piloted the Agera RS on the record at a closed airfield in Denmark earlier this month. Two previous attempts had been postponed due to poor weather conditions.

The 3,100-lb Agera RS is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that makes 1,341 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque. The car’s top speed hasn’t been announced.

Koenigsegg vows to set a new record in coming months with its Regera hypercar. That vehicle’s hybrid-electric powertrain generates a combined 1,479 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque.
