Kia Motors Corp. has released a teaser photo of the KED 10, a subcompact urban crossover vehicle the South Korean company will reveal at the Frankfurt auto show next month.

Kia hasn't announced production plans for the B-segment vehicle. But it notes the KED 10 was developed in Europe with "European tastes and expectations very much in mind." If launched, the car would compete with the Nissan Juke.

Kia's parent company, Hyundai Motor Co., unveiled a similar small concept, the Curb, at the Detroit auto show in 2011. The Curb was designed by Hyundai's California design studio as an "urban activity vehicle" for those with a technology-driven lifestyle.
