Karma Automotive LLC says it has purchased a 260,000-sq-ft facility in Irvine, Calif., that will serve as its new headquarters.
The hybrid-car company, which had been based in nearby Costa Mesa, plans to move to the new building in July. The facility will house 600 people and include a design center, research and development and test laboratories.
Karma, which is owned by China’s Wanxiang Group, was formed in 2014 from the assets of bankrupt hybrid supercar maker Fisker Automotive and Technology Group. Late last year the company launched the Revero hybrid sports sedan, which is based on the Fisker Karma.
