June Truck Sales Rose 2% in Europe

Sales of trucks, vans and buses across Europe totaled 237,300 units last month compared with 231,800 in June 2016, trade group ACEA reports.

Deliveries through the first half of 2017 rose 4% to 1.26 million commercial vehicles.

In Europe’s five largest markets, June sale dropped 7% to 32,800 units in Germany. But that shrinkage was offset by gains in France (+3% to 52,200 units), the U.K. (+2% to 42,600), Spain (+9% to 21,400) and Italy (+13% to 19,000).

ACEA says last month’s demand for light-duty commercial trucks climbed 3% to 199,800 units. Deliveries of heavy-duty trucks reversed growth in May by slipping 1% to 27,100 units.
