Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. will “pause” output temporarily at its engine plant at Wolverhampton, England, to match sales and production fluctuations.

JLR notes that its assembly plant in Solihull is cutting overall output as it shifts production of its Land Rover Discovery SUV to its new factory in Nitra, Slovakia. The €1.4 billion ($1.6 billion) factory opened last month.

The production shift will result in layoffs for 250 temporary workers at Solihull and temporary suspensions for 500 employees at Wolverhampton.
