JLR notes that its assembly plant in Solihull is cutting overall output as it shifts production of its Land Rover Discovery SUV to its new factory in Nitra, Slovakia. The €1.4 billion ($1.6 billion) factory opened last month.
The production shift will result in layoffs for 250 temporary workers at Solihull and temporary suspensions for 500 employees at Wolverhampton.
