Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. says the €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) plant it is building in Nitra, Slovakia, will make the company’s next-generation Land Rover Discovery SUV.

The facility, which will begin operations in late 2018, will supplement Discovery output at JLR’s Solihull, England, factory. The Solihull plant is running at full capacity.

The Slovakian plant will begin operations in late 2018 with initial annual capacity to make 150,000 of the 7-passenger SUVs.

JRL unveiled the next-gen Discovery in September. The model will ride on the same aluminum platform that carries the five-passenger Discovery Sport.
