JLR Sales Jump 19% to All-Time High

Tata Motors Ltd.'s Jaguar Land Rover unit retailed 425,000 vehicles last year compared with 357,800 units in 2012 and 275,200 in 2011.

Demand Land Rover SUVs grew 15% to a record 348,300 vehicles last year. Jaguar's luxury car sales surged 42% to an eight-year high of 76,700 units.

On a regional basis, JLR's sales climbed 30% in Asia, 21% in North America, 14% in the U.K., 6% in Europe and a combined 23% in remaining markets.

The company attributes its success in 2013 to the appeal of new models such as the Jaguar F-Type and Range Rover Sport.
