Johnson Controls Inc. has completed the sale of it HomeLink remote door-opener business to mirror-maker Gentex Corp. for $700 million.
The deal, which includes assets, intellectual property and testing facilities, was announced in July after JCI decided to sell off its entire automotive electrics operations. The company says the latter effort is going "very well" with multiple would-be buyers.
Gentex has been integrating the HomeLink system into its self-dimming automotive rearview mirrors for 10 years.
