Schwyn Named Chief Tech Officer for Valeo N. America

Valeo SA has appointed James Schwyn to the newly created position of chief technical officer for its North American operations.

A 20-year Valeo veteran, Schwyn most recently served as the director of the company’s Thermal operations in North America. He will report to Jean-Francois Tarabbia, senior vice president of Valeo’s research and development and product marketing.

Schwyn will work with top engineering executives at Valeo’s customers to identify and develop new technologies and programs, including systems related to autonomous driving, connectivity and electrification. He also will help recruit and develop engineering personnel.

Valeo currently has about 1,000 engineers in North America and plans to increase this by 50% within the next five years. Most of the new hires will be at the company's innovation centers in California, Michigan and Mexico.
