Tata Motors Ltd.'s Jaguar Land Rover unit says it will invest an additional 150 million (€174 million) to double the size of a factory in Wolverhampton, England, that is scheduled to begin building engines in 2015.

The facility, which now will cover nearly 100,000 square meters, will include an engine testing center. JLR has not disclosed the plant's capacity.

In 2011 the company unveiled plans to spend 355 million (€411 million) to erect the factory, which would create 750 jobs. The expansion will boost the workforce to about 1,400 people.

The new facility will produce four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines for most of JLR's vehicles. Current Jaguar and Land Rover models are equipped with powerplants supplied by Ford Motor Co.
