Jaguar Bids Adieu to the Oval Grille
Jaguar's current XK coupe will be the last to use the iconic oval grille made famous by the brand's 1960s-era XKE sports car.
Jaguar's current XK coupe will be the last to use the iconic oval grille made famous by the brand's 1960s-era XKE sports car.
Design chief Ian Callum tells Autocar that all future Jaguars, including the company's first crossover vehicle due about two years from now, will feature the rounded trapezoidal grilled that debuted last month with the F-Type sports car.
Callum said previously that he considered an oval grille for the F-Type but opted for a different shape to signal change within the brand. He says the new grille was inspired by the one he designed for the 2010 Jaguar XJ sedan.
