Inrix Adds Parking Reservation Partners

Inrix Inc., a U.S.-based traffic-mapping and connected-car service supplier, is partnering with reservation specialists SpotHero Inc. and Parking Panda Corp. to expand its parking services business in North America.

Chicago-based SpotHero describes itself as the largest off-street parking reservation service in the U.S. The company’s app allows users to find, compare prices and book available spots in participating parking lots and garages.

Baltimore-based Parking Panda Corp., which has a similar app, claims to be the largest parking reservation provider in Canada. It also manages parking reservations for special events.

In 2015 Irix acquired ParkMe, a Santa Monica, Calif., company that helps drivers locate and reserve open parking spaces. Inrix, which also works with several other parking location and reservation companies, says it provides street parking information in more than 40 cities worldwide.

Inrix says its garage and lot parking database tracks more than 31 million spaces in nearly 100,000 locations spanning 4,500 cities in 65 countries.
