Nissan Motor Co.'s Infiniti brand says its new Q30 Concept combines the look of a coupe, hatch and crossover.

The company revealed photos of the car ahead of its unveiling at the Frankfurt auto show two weeks from now. A production version of the sedan is expected to debut near the end of next year.

Infiniti says it hopes the Q30 will attract the "modern, young-minded premium customer" and help the brand more than triple worldwide sales to 500,000 units annually by 2017. The car will become a new entry-level luxury model at the bottom of Infiniti's lineup.

The Q30 will ride on Daimler AG's "modular front architecture" (MFA) small-car platform, which was developed under a partnership agreement between the German carmaker and the Renault-Nissan alliance. Daimler's Mercedes-Benz Cars unit currently uses the MFA to underpin its small A- and B-Class sedans, CLA sport sedan and future GLA crossover.
