The companies did not disclose the value or length of the multi-year deal. Fiat describes the contract as an extension of its decade-long partnership with IBM.
Fiat, Chrysler and CNH each currently operates its own IT system. IBM says shifting to a single platform will enable the companies to more easily collaborate on everything from vehicle design and engineering to dealer operations and customer relations.
