Kyung Soo Lee, who was appointed president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Co.’s U.S. operations just over a year ago, is leaving that post as part of a reorganization.
Lee will serve in an unspecified advisory role for Hyundai in South Korea. His replacement in the U.S. hasn’t been named.
Lee was named CEO of Hyundai America in September 2017. He succeeded Dave Zuchowski, who was fired in December 2016 for failing to meet sales targets.
Hyundai typically announces new management appointments close to the end of the year. Additional staff changes are expected later this year.
