Hyundai Motor Co. will take the wraps off the 2018 Elantra GT next week at the Chicago auto show.

The 5-door wagon, which is expected to be nearly identical to the European-model i30 that was shown at the Paris auto show last autumn, will usher in Hyundai’s latest design language in the U.S. Styling cues include a hexagonal mesh grille framed by thick chrome-like trim, swept-back headlights and a sportier lower apron.

Built on a longer wheelbase, the 2018 model will be roomier than the current Elantra GT. The interior also gets a major makeover with high-tech features and a sportier design, including red stitching and stripes.

Engine options in the U.S. are expected to include a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine that makes 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. There are no plans to offer a U.S. version of the i30 N hot-hatchback.
