Hyundai Motor Co. has released a series of short teaser videos for its upcoming Kona crossover vehicle and says it will publicly unveil the tiny subcompact model June 13.
The videos show the vehicle’s darkened silhouette, which features an aggressive profile, wide stance and sporty front end with a cascading grille and double headlight arrangement. Hyundai claims the vehicle’s interior space will be best in class, highlighted by a new head-up display with an 8-inch projection and “class-leading luminance.”
The Kona will share a platform with the Hyundai’s i20 city car. All-wheel drive is expected to be optional.
Engine choices likely will include a pair of small gasoline mills and a 1.6-liter diesel. An all-electric variant said to be in development could bow as early as 2018.
