As the leader of design strategy for Hyundai vehicles worldwide, Loasby will help shape the company’s new “sensuous sportiness” design philosophy. His previous job in China will be filled by Minchul Koo, current head of Hyundai’s Exterior Design Group.
Loasby, 51, joined Hyundai in 2017 from Volkswagen AG, where he was director of design for VW Group China. Previous design assignments were at Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
Loasby holds a master’s degree in vehicle design from the Royal College of Art in London. He also studied mechanical engineering at the University of London.
