Hyundai Sketches Next-Gen Azera

Hyundai Motor Co. has released several sketches of its sixth-generation Azera sedan ahead of the car’s official introduction next month in Korea. The U.S. version is expected to launch sometime next year.

The sketches indicate the Azure will adopt Hyundai’s new cascading grille design, which debuted last month on the i30 hatchback. The rear features thin LED taillights.

Power for the front-wheel-drive car is expected to come from a reworked version of the 3.3-liter V-6 engine offered in the current Azera and Kia Cadenza. Hyundai also will offer a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The company’s latest 8-speed automatic transmission will be standard.
