Hyundai Motor Co. has vowed to introduce eight all-new or significantly revamped crossover vehicles in the U.S. by 2020.

The first of the new models will be the Kona small crossover (pictured) in March. The car debuted in South Korea in June. Hyundai also plans to add an even smaller crossover, along with a midsize model, later.

Among the other new models will be vehicles with battery electric, fuel cell and diesel powertrains. Hyundai has not explained how or where it will produce the flood of new models.

Hyundai’s sales in the U.S. slowed to 2% in 2016 and are down 13% this year, mainly because its sedan-heavy product lineup is poorly aligned with a market that is clamoring for SUV/crossover vehicles.
