Hyundai Motor Co. tells Edmunds.com it is studying how and whether to address customer demand that it equip future vehicles with the ability to surf the Internet.

Brandon Ramirez, who heads product planning for Hyundai's America unit, tells the online auto data service the feature would be configured to work only when the vehicle is stationary.

If Hyundai decides to offer Web browsing, the capability would be designed into next-generation models, according to Edmunds. It isn't clear if the company would equip vehicles with browsers or simply enable them to display the output of a smartphone.
