Honda Motor Co. has given Mike Accavitti, vice president of U.S. auto marketing, broader responsibilities for production planning, Automotive News reports.
On April 1 Accavitti will add oversight of American Honda's product, sales and production planning, market research, distribution, logistics and quality control. He will continue to report to Tetsuo Iwamura, the unit's president.
The newspaper suggests that Accavitti's promotion signals that the U.S. unit will get a bigger say in the parent company's product planning. Art St. Cyr, who has headed corporate planning and logistics, retains those duties, but now reports to Accavitti.
Accavitti joined Honda in 2011 after 25 years at Chrysler Group, where he was the company's marketing chief and president of the Dodge brand.
