Revenue for the period grew 13% to 3.1 trillion yen ($30.3 billion), boosted by favorable exchange rates and increased revenue from car and motorcycle sales. Operating income surged 78% to 175 billion yen ($1.7 billion). Retail sales rose 5% to 3.56 million units.
Net income for the full fiscal jumped 56% to 574 billion yen ($5.6 billion), as revenue climbed 20% to 11.8 trillion yen ($116 billion). Operating income for the 12-month period advanced 38% to 750 billion yen ($7.3 billion).
Honda predicts its revenue in the fiscal year that began April 1 will grow about 8% to 12.8 trillion yen. It expects operating income will rise 1% to 760 billion yen, and net income will increase 4% to 595 billion yen.
