Honda Motor Co. has released a sketch of the redesigned 2018 Accord midsize sedan that the company will publicly unveil July 14 in Detroit.
The teaser image indicates the all-new model will get a sportier front end, similar to that introduced on the latest Civic compact car. The design includes a more aggressive stance and LED headlights.
Honda previously has said the 10th-generation model would feature more refinement and improved driving dynamics. Engine choices will consist of two new direct-injected turbocharged mills mated with Honda’s new 10-speed automatic transmission, a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. An updated version of Honda's two-motor hybrid technology also is in the works.
Honda says it has sold 13 million Accords in the U.S. since the first-generation model was launched in 1976. The carmaker began producing the vehicle at its Marysville, Ohio, facility in 1982.
