Honda Motor Co. CEO Takahiro Hachigo tells reporters the company’s car sales in China are likely to match U.S. demand in 2-3 years.
Last year the company sold about 1.7 million vehicles in the U.S. and 1.4 million in China. Hachigo adds that he doesn’t expect Honda’s volume in the U.S. to grow significantly over that period, Reuters reports.
Honda builds 19 models in China through partnerships with Dongfeng and GAC. The two ventures have combined annual production capacity of 1.1 million vehicles, according to Honda.
