Honda Motor Co. plans to introduce two production cars and two near-production concepts at the Tokyo auto show in late November.
The production models include a Fit-based small crossover based on the Urban SUV concept Honda unveiled in January at the Detroit show. Honda says it will eventually offer the car in the U.S.
Production of the crossover will start at Honda's Yorii factory north of Tokyo. But the company plans to supplement that output with units built alongside the Fit hatchback at Honda's factory that opens this year in Mexico.
The second production offering is the N-WGN, a mini-wagon variant of Honda's N Box minicar. It will be introduced in November in Japan.
Honda's two concepts include the S660 mini-roadster and another iteration of Honda's long-awaited NSX sports car. Honda says the near-production S660 reveals the brand's new "solid wing face" design in which the headlamps and grille merge a styling cue originated by Ford Motor Co.'s Lincoln division. The two-seater features a mid-mounted 660-cc engine. It will go on sale in Japan next year.
Little changes other than color for the latest NSX sports car concept. The supercar will be badged as a Honda in Japan, where the company's Acura luxury brand is not offered. The car is scheduled to go on sale in 2015.
