Honda Motor Corp. is recalling 19,200 of its 2014-model Acura MDX crossovers in the U.S. to check for loose powertrain bolts.

The campaign involves only models equipped with all-wheel drive. The system includes a propeller shaft that links the transmission to the rear axle. Honda says the bolts that connect the shaft to universal joints at each end could loosen and fall out.

Loose bolts could generate excessive drivetrain noise. If all four bolts fall out at either end of the shaft, power to the rear wheels would be lost, and damage to the underbody could occur. Honda reports no crashes or customer complaints related to the problem.
