A defect that can allow an automatic transmission to be shifted out of Park without first depressing the brake pedal has prompted Honda Motor Co. to recall 205,000 cars, crossovers and minivans in the U.S.
The flaw, which defeats the brake-shift interlock safety system, occurs only when temperatures are low.
The recall that begins next month will encompass Acura RDX sedans from the 2013 model year and 2012-2013 CRV compact crossovers and Odyssey minivans.
Honda says it is aware of no crashes, injuries or complaints related to the defect.
