Hino to Open Its First Factory in Russia

Toyota Motor Corp.’s Hino Motors unit plans to open a plant north of Moscow in 2019 to produce 2,000 commercial trucks per year.
The facility will be Hino’s first assembly plant in Russia. The 1.9 billion-yen ($17 million) facility will launch production of a medium-duty truck in mid-2019 and add a light-duty truck in mid-2020, according to the company.
Hino began shipping trucks to Russia from Japan in 2008. The company estimates it has sold about 12,000 vehicles there to date.
