Nissan Motor Co. tells AN that hail marred several hundred of its new vehicles that were in transit but none of those parked outside its Canton, Miss., assembly plant. The rest of the damage was reported by dealerships that sell a variety of brands.
Dealers and automakers usually attempt to repair storm-damaged vehicles to sell at a discount, according to the newspaper. It says those that can't be restored go to auction as used models.
