Guardian Industries Corp., which has not had a CEO since 2009, has named Ron Vaupel to that post, effective Jan. 1.
Vaupel is a vice president at Kansas-based Koch Industries Inc., which in October acquired a minority stake in privately held Guardian. Reuters reports that Koch now owns 44% of the Auburn Hills, Mich.-based company.
The company has functioned without a chairman, CEO or president since William Davidson, who held all three titles, died more than three years ago. The company generates an estimated $5 billion in annual revenue.
Guardian makes automotive and residential glass, automotive trim, fiberglass insulation and building products at facilities in 25 countries spread across five continents.
