General Motors Co. says it will eliminate 1,100 jobs at its Lansing Delta township factory in Michigan in May.
The cutback will come as GM ends production of the GMC Acadia SUV there and begins building the next-generation Acadia at its assembly plant in Spring Hill, Tenn. The Lansing facility will continue to make Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse SUVs.
The production shift is adding 800 jobs at the Tennessee plant, according to GM.
