General Motors Co. has elevated Bryan Nesbitt, its global design chief for the Buick brand since July 2015, to GM global design strategist, Automotive News reports.

Nesbitt headed international design for GM for four years, including a stint as head of design at GM China, before returning to the U.S. last year. He led design efforts for Buick, Cadillac and Saturn models before taking over as Buick’s design chief.

Nesbitt is succeeded in his previous role by Helen Emsley, who continues as head of design for the GMC truck brand. She joined GM in Europe 27 years ago and became head of the company’s suburban Detroit color and trim studio nine years later.

Emsley’s previous programs include the interior of the 2014 Corvette Stingray and GMC truck interiors. She was named head of GMC design in 2013.
