GM’s Buick and Cadillac brands posted record highs of 1.18 million units and 100,000 units, respectively, in 2016. Results were buoyed by a 45% surge to 673,400 units in demand for SUV/crossovers.
The company notes that deliveries of entry-level Baojun brand vehicles co-developed with SAIC and Wuling jumped 49% to a record 688,400 units in 2016.
Sales of commercial vehicles by GM’s Wuling venture continued to decline, falling to 1.34 million units from 1.46 million in 2015 and 1.58 million in 2014.
