General Motors Co. says this year’s early Spring Festival holiday in China caused its new-vehicle deliveries in January to fall 24% to 321,300 units.
Because of fluctuations in the holiday, carmakers consider a combined January-February total a better measure of early-year sales performance.
Still, sales by GM’s Cadillac luxury brand more than doubled to a record 18,000 units last month. Demand for the company’s Buick MPVs jumped more than 60%.
