General Motors Co. has announced replacements for its current heads of North America and worldwide manufacturing, effective April 1.

Barry Engle, current president of GM International, will succeed Alan Batey as executive vice president of North America. Batey is retiring after 40 years with GM. Engle’s successor is Julian Blissett, who heads GM’s joint venture in China with SAIC Group.
 

Gerald Johnson, who heads manufacturing and labor relations in North America, will succeed Alicia Boler Davis as executive vice president of global manufacturing. She is leaving the company after a 25-year career there, reportedly to join Amazon.com Inc. GM says Johnson’s successor will be announced later.
