GM Names DeLuca to Head Global Manufacturing
General Motors Co. has chosen Jim DeLuca to become its executive vice president in charge of global manufacturing on Feb. 1.
General Motors Co. has chosen Jim DeLuca to become its executive vice president in charge of global manufacturing on Feb. 1.
DeLuca, 52, currently is vice president of manufacturing for GM International Operation. He will succeed Tim Lee, who will retire on April 1. DeLuca's successor has not been announced.
DeLuca will oversee operations at 171 GM facilities in 31 countries. He began his career at GM's Linden, N.J., assembly plant in 1979. Later assignments included manufacturing and quality management roles with GM Truck Group, GM Daewoo and GM Asia Pacific.
He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's in manufacturing management, both from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University).
