GM Might Sell Rebadged PSA Vans in U.S.

PSA Peugeot Citroen is discussing the possibility of supplying delivery vans to General Motors Co., which would sell them in the U.S. under one of its own brands, France's La Tribune reports.

The newspaper cites an unnamed company source, who says the companies have not decided whether PSA would supply French-made vans or GM would make them in North America.

Such an arrangement would broaden the strategic alliance the two companies formed in February 2012 to share logistics, purchasing and product development.

Talks involve the next-generation midsize light commercial vehicles PSA plans to build at its Sevelnord plant near Valenciennes, France, according to La Tribune. The company is collaborating with Toyota Motor Corp. to design those vans, which are expected in 2017.

GM already has a joint venture with Renault SA to design and produce larger vans for the European market. The partners make the Opel/Vauxhall Movano and Vivaro and the Renault Master and Trafic.
