General Motors Co. has mailed letters to nearly 1.9 million owners of cars with faulty ignition switches urging them to complete the needed repairs, The Detroit News reports.
One letter urges action by more than 1 million owners who haven't contacted their dealer or ordered replacement parts online. A second letter went to 875,000 owners who ordered parts but haven't come in to have them installed.
GM says its dealers have replaced about 806,000 ignition switches out of 2.6 million recalled since February.
