GM Further Reduces Output in Korea

General Motors Co.'s South Korean unit, which idled its Gunsan plant for six days in March, will suspend production there for nine days this month, according to Reuters.

GM tells the news service the lower output is a response to sluggish sales in Europe. Chevrolet volume in that region fell 39% in January and February, nearly four times the drop in the overall market.

The Gunsan factory, which makes the Chevrolet Cruze compact car and Orlando small MPV, has annual capacity of 260,000 vehicles.
