General Motors Co. has filed a trademark for the name “Enspire,” which could signal a production version of a Buick concept crossover model that debuted at the Beijing auto show in April.

Buick currently sells three crossover vehicles that use the “En” prefix. These include the compact Encore, mid-level Envision and top-of-the-line Encore. A fourth model, the Regal TourX, is a five-door wagon based on the Regal midsize car.

If approved, the production Enspire likely will ride on the Regal’s E2 platform, according to GMAuthority. The architecture also is used for the Cadillac XT4 crossover and Chevrolet Malibu sedan.

The Enspire concept vehicle (left) features a 550-hp all-electric powertrain and GM’s semiautonomous Super Cruise technology. Buick is adding electrified models to its lineup in China but has put such plans on hold in the U.S. due to lackluster consumer demand. In addition, carmakers could soon lose federal tax credits for EVs in the U.S.
