General Motors Co. says it has made no decision about where it will produce the next-generation of the Chevrolet Cruse compact sedan currently made in South Korea.

When the company announced in November that the future Cruze would not be built in Korea, it said only that production would be moved to another region.

GM denies a report by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that the company intends to begin producing the Cruze at its factory in Gliwice, Poland, at the end of 2014. The Cruze is Chevy's best-selling model in Europe.

Analysts note that the Polish plant would be a logical choice for making the Cruze, which is Chevy's top-selling model in Europe output. The plant's operating costs are low and it already builds the Opel Astra compact, which rides on the same Delta II platform as the Cruze.

GM also produces the Cruze in other markets, including Brazil, China, Russia, Thailand and the U.S.
