General Motors Co. has quietly raised prices by $1,500 on its redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra large pickup trucks, Edmunds.com reports.

The increase pushes the base price of a Silverado to $26,700. But GM is temporarily offsetting the hike with as much as $1,500 in incentives through the end of October.

Edmunds notes that the price increase coincides with successful efforts to clear out leftover 2013 Silverado and Sierra models on dealer lots.
